Fundraising events
The Matlock Gilbert and Sullivan Society are co-ordinating the fundraising efforts under the working title of Ian's Fund.

| Other | There will be various dinners and coffee mornings/barbecues at times yet to be arranged. There are also events scheduled in the Derby area for Autumn '08. |

The cricket bat signed by the Derbyshire CCC team was auctioned on eBay and raised £43. |

| Fri 18th July | Launch Concert with Matlock Gilbert and Sullivan Society and The Dalesmen, followed by cake and wine in the church hall. Over £1000 raised! |
| Sun 20th July | A sponsored walk from Matlock to Bakewell, via Rowsley - approx 10 miles. 25 people attended, weather was perfect. Sponsorship is expected to total well over £2000! Important: if you went on the walk, please send your sponsor forms back to Liz with the money, for accounting purposes. |
| Sat 26th July | Cornish Pasty evening at the United Reform Church in Holymoorside, Chesterfield - we watch how they're made and then we eat them! Combined with a belly dancing entertainment, there will be desserts, wine and a raffle. This event raised over £700! |
| Fri 1st August | A Race Night at the Black Swan in Ashover - organised by Richard Simmonds in conjunction with the Derwent Valley Lions Club. |
| Sat 2nd August | Liz and Mac's Dinner at a Price night raised £400 - 8 people paid £50 each for Liz's brother - a restauranteur - to cook for them, and it was a great night. Mac was the under chef and Sue and Liz waited on. A similar dinner, run by Richard Simmonds, raised £150 on the same night. |
| Mon 25th August | Car Boot Sale at the Showground in Bakewell. |
| Sat 30th August | Charity Boules and BBQ Night hosted by Derby Focus. Three Crowns pub, Wide Lane, Hathern. |
| Sat 13th September | Charity Disco, Pastures social club, Mickleover, Derby. Music and dancing with Spanky's disco. Fancy dress wins prizes; theme: medical - doctors, nurses, patients, etc. Organised through Derby Focus. |
| Sat 5th October | "Press for MS" at Body Base, Chesterfield. Including the chance to arm wrestle with the BRITISH CHAMPION ARM WRESTLER for charity, and an indoor 'triathlon'. This even raised a massive £2007! |
| Sat 18th October | The Bookstall at Mackworth College, Derby, raised £71. |
